Poster Presentation Specifications
When designing posters, you should aim to make
them eye-catching in order to maximize interest.
Think about the main colors, layout, fonts and
imagery.
Some Practical tips:
Specific sections (such as the background,
methods, results and conclusions) are easy to
locate on the poster.
Design your posters so that they can be quickly
read; avoid large blocks of text and long
sentences.
Font size should be large enough to be read at a
distance - the minimum font size is 18pt for
text and 36pt for headings.
Supporting images (graphs, tables,
illustrations, photographs, etc.) can be very
helpful.
Avoid information overload. Posters must not
exceed a maximum of 5ft (height) and 3 ft
(width).
All posters must be presented in portrait style.
Please note that the peak times for viewing
posters will be during lunch and during breaks
for refreshments in both the morning and
afternoon sessions. Presenters are asked to be
available on their poster boards to answer any
questions delegates may have during these times.
