Exploring Networking Opportunities for Mental Health Among SAARC Countries

We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming conference being held in Kathmandu, Nepal. The conference is a platform for professionals, researchers, policy-makers, and mental health advocates from the SAARC countries and abroad to come together and explore opportunities for collaboration, exchange of knowledge and best practices, and to create a regional network for mental health. The theme of the conference is of utmost importance in Mental Health as networking allows for the sharing of information and resources, the development of best practices, and the formation of partnerships and collaborations between different organizations and individuals working in the field. This is of more importance to SAARC countries where we are struggling with resource constraints in Mental Health.

The conference will feature keynote speeches from leading experts in the field of mental health, interactive sessions, panel discussions, and poster presentations. The conference theme is “Exploring Networking Opportunities for Mental Health Among SAARC Countries” and will focus on the following sub-themes:

• Promoting mental health and well-being in SAARC countries
• Building a regional network for mental health
• Innovations and best practices in mental health care
• Addressing mental health inequalities in SAARC countries

Nepal is home to Mt. Everest, the tallest Mountain in the World and has eight out of 14 mountains >8000mtrs. It’s also home to Lord Buddha, the Light of Asia whose teachings in mindfulness are now being widely practiced around the world in promotion of mental health and prevention and treatment of many mental health issues.Kathmandu itself is a very ancient city with many UNESCO heritage sites and famous pilgrimage sites such as Pashupatinath, Bouddha and Swayambhunath. The weather is also very pleasant around November and is a peak tourist season in Nepal.
